Review of Cut & Run Series Book Four: Divide and Conquer

Divide and Conquer (Book Cover)

Special FBI Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are on the case again in Divide and Conquer, the fourth book in the Cut and Run series by Abigail Roux and Madeleine Urban. This is another high-energy, action-packed adventure for two very capable guys.

Roux and Urban handle the action and the romance with equal aplomb. Grady and Garrett are well-matched characters in and out of bed. Divide and Conquer is set against the backdrop of their home-base city of Baltimore, Maryland and filled with plenty of drama. Like other books in the Cut and Run series, Divide and Conquer focuses more on the relationship between Ty and Zane than the villains in the piece.

Divide and Conquer also looks at the extended relationships surrounding Ty and Zane. Ty is working through his relationship with some close former military friends visiting from out of state. Zane is coping with the ramifications of Ty’s confession of love in Fish and Chips, as well as the consequences of a physical injury. Roux and Urban are a great writing team. With some writing teams the delineation between the different styles of the writers is clear, not so with Roux and Urban.

Divide and Conquer flows seamlessly on the page. Zane and Ty hold center stage as they work to solve a series of crimes in Baltimore and take their relationship to a new level. It’s clear that Zane and Ty have a commitment to each other both as FBI partners and lovers. Are they going to take the next step and admit to their relationship to friends and colleagues? Maybe the next chapter, Armed and Dangerous will tell the tale? This is another 5-star novel for Roux and Urban.
