Taking Inventory is a short-short story in the Hammer Club series by Sean Michael; it’s also part of the Leather Bound anthology by Torquere, a collection of short stories with a leather theme.

Taking Inventory is a snippet from the life of Dom/sub couple Marcus and Jim, the proprietors of the Hammer Club, a BDSM club that caters to gay men. Marcus and Jim are taking inventory of their leather stock in preparation for an upcoming leather convention. What starts out as counting various leather toys soon ends up in a hot scene between Marcus and Jim.

Michael knows how to write some entertaining sex scenes between his characters with plenty of clenching, groping, biting and licking. Marcus and Jim are an established couple, so the passion between them already sparkles, as does the genuine emotion and caring for each other. Taking Inventory stands alone, but it’s also a nice addition to the other stories that happen in and around the Hammer Club.

Although this is a very short story, just 16 pages, Taking Inventory doesn’t cheat the reader. The story focuses on the main characters and the romp they’re having doing inventory in the stockroom. It’s a pleasant way to pass an easy afternoon.
