Adore by Ann Mayburn is the third book in a contemporary romance that continues the story of Cody MacPherson and Sam Dunham, two young men married and fiercely in love with each other. Cody and Sam run an exotic stone business that has left them fairly well off. Their life together seems perfect from the outside, but one thing’s missing to make it perfect — a child of their own to make them a family.

Cody and Sam have an established relationship, so much of Adore focuses on their efforts to adopt an infant. Mayburn handles the story with a sensitive touch; constructing a tale that pulls all of the heart strings while detailing their rocky road to possible parenthood.

Mayburn’s writing style is clean and crisp and some interesting characters populate Adore, including the young mother-to-be, Nancy and her challenging mother, Mrs Yost, as well as Cody and Sam’s attorney, Arthur. Adore leaves you with a warm feeling about love, commitment and family. It’s a fine conclusion to a romantic trilogy about two men trying to make a family.

This is a sweet tale; a nice and easy read to curl up with on a long winter night. Cody and Sam are an engaging couple determined to become a great family.
